Bury College officially launches Hair and Beauty Centre with Plaque Unveiling event
The plaque was unveiled by Chris Trees, Chair of Governors at Bury College.
Bury College Public Services students raised an incredible amount for the 2022 Poppy Appeal that is organised by the Royal British Legion.
The students were busy selling poppies in the foyer of Marks and Spencer in The Rock and the Millennium Centre at Bury College.
Students enjoyed fundraising for such a worthwhile cause. Public Services student Will Lock said: “This is a really great amount, and it was a valuable experience seeing how many people have direct connections to the Armed Forces.” Rhys Drinkwater added: “I am really proud of raising this much for such a worthwhile cause.”
Rod Lloyd, a local Royal British Legion organiser, said: “We are fortunate that we have a great team of volunteers that sell poppies for us. Huge thanks to all the Bury College students that helped raise a fantastic amount for us.”
All the money raised by our students will help the Royal British Legion continue its vital work in supporting the Armed Forces community.
The staff and students involved wanted to also send a thank you to Mike Harrington and all the staff at Marks & Spencer in Bury for their help and support in making the fundraising efforts possible.
