It has been a memorable few years for former Bury College student and apprentice Joshua Crowe.
The product developer is thriving in the software and IT industry and credits his time at Bury College for helping him develop in a competitive industry. He first joined Bury College in 2014 to study for a Level 3 Diploma in IT. Following completion, he became an Apprentice Web & Database Developer at the College in 2018. At the same time, he was also studying for a HNC in Computing and Systems Development.
After completing his apprenticeship, Joshua worked as a Software Developer for almost three years at Gnatta, an industry-leading Software Development company. He then moved on to the digital agency AND Digital where he now works as a Product Developer.
Formerly of The Elton High School, Joshua, now 24, believes his first taste of employment played a big part in his wider success: “I really enjoyed my time as an apprentice. It allowed me to put my knowledge into practice and it was here where I started to learn new skills that would help benefit me in my career.”
Joshua also spoke in detail about enjoying working in the rapidly changing sector thanks to technology advancing so quickly: “It’s been an exciting time to work in this industry. I’m looking forward to seeing how it continues to develop and how that goes hand in hand with my career ambitions. I’d love to work up to a managerial position.”
