This week saw students and staff from our Hair, Beauty, Barbering and Media Make-up courses move into our brand-new Hair and Beauty Centre.
It’s the home to a range of exciting courses, from vocational courses to degree level, including those leading to jobs training the next generation of salon managers. We also offer a range of courses for adults looking to upskill and enhance their current career prospects.
The ground floor is home to a 12-bed Media Make-up and special effects studio, a commercial 24 station hair salon and a 24 station make up studio. The first floor comprises of a 12-bed Nail Clinic, two 12-bed beauty clinics and a 24-station hair salon. On the third floor, learners are now benefitting from two 24 station hair and barbering salons and both IT and general teaching space to support the specialist facilities.
Facilities will also be open for members of the public to enjoy discounted haircuts and beauty treatments.
Funding for the new centre has been provided by the Department for Education, specifically the FE Capital Transformation Fund and T-Level Capital Fund.
Victoria Fell, Faculty Director for Hair and Beauty, said: "These incredible new facilities are going to give our learners the best possible start in their careers in the hair and beauty sector. I look forward to seeing how their skills continue to develop throughout their time with us."
