A local Assistant Headteacher has praised the Bury College Coaching Professional Level 5 apprenticeship for helping her to develop in her role and career at Millwood School.
Katy Neild is an experienced professional in the education sector and wanted to enhance her skills to help develop as the Assistant Headteacher at Millwood School.
Katy said: “The apprenticeship has been immense in helping me within my current leadership role. I am more confident in leading conversations, supporting colleagues and knowing how to get the best out of people in order for them to achieve their goals.
“As three members of staff are undertaking this course from school, we have been able to collaborate and make changes to our working environment and school ethos. This is ongoing but is ultimately moving towards a more dynamic, driven and productive teaching team. In my career, it has certainly given me the foundations of being more successful in my role and strategic leadership skills that I may have moved away from in the past.”

Bury College recently hosted a Higher Education Fair for its current learners, welcoming representatives from over 20 different universities.
T Level student Cameron Taylor turned his placement at Bury BID into a paid summer role, gaining hands-on experience in events and marketing.
Two dedicated apprentices working in a local nursery are proving that it’s never too late to upskill, thanks to the Early Years Level 5 Apprenticeship offered at Bury College.
Our art students have brought a splash of colour and creativity to Bury Hospice with a striking new mural celebrating the spirit of the local community. Painted by students from the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, the mural features vibrant hydrangeas and iconic Manchester Bees, symbolising unity, resilience, and the six towns of Bury.
