This workshop will be delivered by industry expert Helen Ainsbury, who has worked across the private and public sectors for more than 20 years leading on data protection from Data Protection Officer (DPO) to Executive Director with Board level responsibility.
This workshop will help you gain the knowledge and practical skills in order to help you and your business understand data protection and how to make sure you work towards and maintain compliance.
The session will cover what GDPR is and what it is not. It will also help you understand how critical it is to take the protection of personal information seriously without getting overwhelmed. It will give you a practical approach, and tools, to help your organisation move forwards.
Fundamentally, the workshop will cover the basic principles of data protection, the surrounding legislation, individual rights, data privacy by design and how to establish a robust security culture and infrastructure.
The course is aimed at anyone with a responsibility for data protection within their organisation. So that means anyone! The protection of personal data within an organisation is the responsibility of everyone, so whether you are a Data Protection Officer, a company director, an administrator or just someone who wants to understand more, then this course is for you.
