Bury College officially launches Hair and Beauty Centre with Plaque Unveiling event
The plaque was unveiled by Chris Trees, Chair of Governors at Bury College.
The curriculum is tailored around the student group and individual outcomes, with the focus on improving and promoting independence and building self-confidence. You will have the opportunity to gain an AIM Entry Level Certificate or Diploma in Looking after Yourself and Your Home.You will also study English and maths dependent on individual assessment results and could gain a Functional Skills or Stepping Stones Qualification at an appropriate level.
Possible units of study include: Looking after yourself and your home, Eating out, Participation in team activities, Health and fitness, Making a simple meal, Eating a balanced diet.
Assessment is captured in a variety of ways including: Photographic evidence, observation/witness statements, some written work, tutor statements.

You will also engage in the Positive Futures Careers Programme, developing key employability skills through a diverse range of activities including work placements, volunteering, employer talks, industry study visits and employment and university fairs.
