|Course Title||Introduction to Six Sigma|
About the programme
This course has been designed to give delegates an understanding of the data driven methodology that underpins Six Sigma [6s]. This one-day course utilises presentations, group discussions and group activities focusing on the Six Sigma problem solving process, the DMAICcycle (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control). The course provides an awareness of the importance of a data-focussed approach to defect removal and reduction in process variation to improve overall process efficiency. This course can lead to more in-depth training offered via the Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) NVQ Level 2 and 3 Quality Pathway.
Who is it aimed at?
This course is for managers, technicians, scientists, engineers and data-focussed employees who want to improve quality and reduce the variation in processes.
The course provides an understanding of Six Sigma and its infrastructure (DMAIC); calculating Six Sigma metrics; problem solving; basic statistical analysis, use of process mapping and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The course uses participatory group work to reinforce learning.
