Overview of the Course

If you have an aspiration to go to university or would like to improve your employment options but do not possess a GCSE in Mathematics, this course offers a fantastic progression opportunity. 

This course is designed to develop fluent knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts.  It also enables learners to acquire, select and apply mathematical techniques to solve problems.


What topics will I study?

The topics covered include: Number, Algebra, Ratio, proportion and rates of change, Geometry and measures, Probability, Statistics.

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is designed for adults (19+).


Attaining a GCSE in Mathematics at Bury College can lead to a wide variety of further study options including an Access to Higher Education Diploma.

What are the entry requirements?

Successful completion of an initial assessment plus interview.


September 2019 until June 2020.

You will attend a weekly 3 hour class (day-time and evening classes available). Excellent attendance is critical.
