Overview of the Course

This course will enable you develop an understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and the behaviours associated with this condition. You will also gain practical skills to support individuals on the autistic spectrum. You will be assessed by written coursework.

What topics will I study?

You will study the following topics:

  •  Autism Vs Asperger Syndrome
  •  The emotional implications of ASD for the individual and the family
  •  Does society’s reaction to ASD have an impact on education and learning?
  •  The behaviours associated with ASD
  •  Strategies to help individuals with ASD cope with everyday situations

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is designed for anyone interested in supporting individuals with ASD.

It provides an excellent starting point for further study.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.

Free if eligible for funding. Fee if not eligible is £100

You may be eligible for funding for this course if you are aged 19+ and in receipt of benefits such as JSA, UC or EAS(WRAG). Funding may also be available if your income is less than £15,736.50 per year. Evidence of your eligibility must be provided.
