Our range of A Level Pathways have been designed to help you achieve your career goals and to prepare you for progression after college.

 

As an A Level Bury College student you can choose from one of the following pathways:

 

Your chosen pathway balances four key components, allowing you to gain a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience related to the industry you wish you progress your career in.

Your Qualifications

Depending on your career aspirations, you will be guided to choose 3 or 4 qualifications from our wide range of A Level Study Programmes and Applied Qualifications.

Developing Future Skills

We focus on enhancing your resilience, research and revision skills – teaching you how to revise and how to cope with the pressures of assignments, tight deadlines and exams. A Level Study Programmes also develop your English and communication skills as well as your technical and numerical abilities.

Work Experience

You will participate in career enhancing work experience placements. Work experience opportunities add great value to your CV and support your UCAS applications. Possible work experience placements include:

  • Mental health charities
  • National engineering companies
  • Radio stations
  • Advertising agencies
  • Hospitals
  • Law firms

Enrichment

During your pathway you will have the opportunity to take part in activities that contribute to your wider development and support your academic studies. Examples of our enrichment activities include:

  • Visits to Russell Group universities including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and Durham University
  • Live briefs and masterclasses delivered from industry professionals
  • College clubs and societies including Film Club, Accentu8 Performing Arts Club, Student Action Group and Sports Teams
  • Visits to locations of interest such as the Lake District, Manchester Art Gallery and Liverpool Albert Dock

Career Aspirations 

 Successful completion of your pathway may lead onto university, employment or an apprenticeship, offering you the potential to enter a diverse range of careers.
