Gifted, Able and Talented Learners
What is the college's Mentoring for Excellence programme?
The Bury College Mentoring for Excellence scheme is very successful in supporting our most gifted, able and talented students to achieve their high potential.
Each year more than one hundred new students are selected to take part in Bury College’s Mentoring for Excellence programme which targets students who have achieved a minimum of 6 GCSE at grade A. Every student on the programme is offered support and specialist guidance with personal tutorials from one of the college’s senior managers. The programme of activities is designed to both raise students’ expectations and their awareness of their choices after college.
Feedback from our students clearly indicates how much they value the individual and personalised approach they receive in college. This raises both their confidence and performance levels so they can apply for the best universities and follow the most prestigious and rewarding careers.
