Financial Support
There are various financial support mechanisms available for students who are experiencing financial difficulty whilst
studying at Bury College.
These include
- 19 + Learner Support Funds
- 16-19 Bursaries
- Adult Learning Grant and EMA (subject to criteria for those who received payments in 2010/11)
- Care to Learn (for young parents aged 16-19)
- Concessionary Bus Pass and Rochdale Travel Award
- Bury College Travel Award
- Bury College Scholarships - Sports and Community
Support can be used to supplement the costs of attending college, eg transport, college equipment, meals in college, books, trips, specialised kits and other course related costs.
There is also a limited amount of funding to support students aged 20+ with childcare costs.
All financial support is subject to eligibility criteria so we urge you to make contact with us in Learner Services at the Millennium Centre to find out what you may be entitled to. Do not delay though as some funding is limited!
