Bury College students raise money for Haiti - 03-Feb-2010
After the devastating disaster which took place in Haiti in January this year, Bury College has been collecting money and raising awareness of the earthquake which has affected so many lives.
On Friday 22nd January Bury College students and staff wore red for the day in the aid of raising money to help the people affected by the Haiti Disaster. Students raised money and collection boxes were placed in each centre, which overall raised £653 for the charity, with continuing collections taking place to raise more.
David Mottershead, Student Learning Mentor states, “This is such a major disaster which has really touched people’s lives and it’s so nice to see the students spending their free time raising money for such a good cause.”
