Enrichment Programmes


At Bury College we are committed to supporting your personal development and enhancing your college experience. There will be the opportunity to join a range of clubs and take part in new activities during your time at college.

In addition to receiving outstanding support to achieve the best in your studies, Enrichment activities enhance your time at College, allowing you the opportunity to meet new friends and build new skills that can look great on your CV.


Making friends is easy

College can be one of the best times in your life. A time you will reflect on in years to come with fond memories. This is your opportunity to make lots of new friends, be involved in college life, gain independence, and succeed in your studies.

Clubs and societies*

      Enrichment activities may include creative writing, cooking, 3D design,
       starting a small business, badminton, dodgeball, practice for your
       theory test, first aid, self defence.

Physical activity and sport

Bury College is one of a select number of colleges in the country to have a College Sport Maker, dedicated to increasing opportunties for you to take part in sporting activities.  Enjoy keeping fit in our fun, friendly sessions, which may include:

      Football
      Basketball
      Streetdance
      Yoga
      Gym
      Dodgeball
      Cricket
      Boxing
      Running
      Rollerblading

Trips and Visits

Students at Bury College benefit from a large number of educational and social trips, visits and residentials each academic year. Some examples of these are:

      Theatre or workshop trips
      Sports trips
      University visits including Oxford and Cambridge and Durham
      Visits to locations of interest (Cities, Art Galleries and Museums)
      National and international field trips such as Blencathra, Paris, Naples,
       Iceland and New York
      Recreation trips such as Alton Towers

 

Student Action Group

The Student Action Group is run by students for students. The group promotes the student voice across college, organises charity fundraising events, and also raises awareness of a wide range of student and community issues.

The group provides the ideal opportunity to socialise, enhance your organisational skills, meet new people and make friends. Being part of the Student Action Group gives you the opportunity to make a difference.
