For someone who enjoys mathematics, Further Mathematics provides a challenge and a chance to explore new more sophisticated mathematical concepts. As well as learning new areas of pure mathematics you will study further applications of mathematics in mechanics, statistics and decision mathematics.
You will have the opportunity to take part in competitions such as the BEBRAS Challenge and the UKMT individual and team challenges. Our most accomplished students can take part in the Senior Kangaroo Challenge.The topics studied on this course are:

Mathematics is an excellent qualification to have for a wide variety of higher education courses and careers. It is vital if you wish to study Mathematics or Engineering at university and is advisable for Economics, Business, Banking, Accountancy, Design, Engineering, Statistics, Computing, IT and Sciences. If you study mathematics your skills will also be welcomed for:
