Overview of the Course

During this apprenticeship you will develop communication skills with colleagues and customers and be able to enhance your written and verbal skills. You will deal with project management and the handling of finance and operational plans. The content of the course covers: Knowledge and Skills which include - Leading People, Managing People, Building Relationships, Communication as you will enhance your written and verbal skills, Operational Management, Project Management, Finance. Combined Skills and Knowledge which include - Self-Awareness, Management of Self, Problem Solving and Decision Making. This course will involve 20% of your time to be dedicated to off the job training.

What are the entry requirements?

Initial assessment and diagnostic testing on maths and English will take place prior to commencement of apprenticeship.

Functional Skills

Functional Skills are a vital part of your apprenticeship. They provide the essential knowledge, skills and understanding needed to operate confidently, effectively and independently. Functional skills are available at Level 1 and Level 2 and the level you will work towards will depend on the previous qualifications you have achieved, the results of an assessment prior to your apprenticeship and the requirements of the apprenticeship you are completing. If you have not already achieved Level 2 English and maths you must: • Study for and take the tests for Level 2 English and maths • Achieve Level 1 English and maths for Level 2 Apprenticeship


As well as an initial college attendance to support and assess the knowledge units, your assessor will visit you on a regular basis and support you with developing your electronic portfolio which is used as evidence for your end point assessment. At these meetings observations, question and answer sessions and reviews will take place. End point assessment (EPA): You will access the end point assessment following agreement from your employer and trainer/assessor, where entry requirements are checked, assessed and verified, this will include checking that the required level of English and maths has been achieved. The Level 3 Supervisor/Team Leader Apprenticeship Standard end point assessment will consist of the following 4 stages: Portfolio of work (20%) through a mixture of written documents, audio and video evidence that showcases the professional application of on-programme learning. Online knowledge test (30%) to showcase leadership and management knowledge by answering a series of questions, explaining how they would respond to a range of different scenarios. This is assessed via online on-demand testing through the Evolve platform. Competency based interview (30%) using structured questions to test their understanding and application of knowledge, and to assess their soft skills, behaviours and personal leadership style. Professional discussion (20%) around your personal and professional development, showing clear evidence of focused CPD and how this has been applied to improve your performance in the workplace. In order to pass you are required to attain 50% or more in each of the four assessments.
