Overview of the Course

About the programme

This tutor led, 12-week programme combines the Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Delegates will be expected to attend 1 three hour session per week for 12 weeks, either in the evening or during the day, and this will enable them to sit the examination for the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Computerised Accounts which takes place during the final session of the course.

Who is it aimed at?

As well as providing a recognised qualification in the computerised aspects of business accounting, this course is aimed at people who wish to gain an understanding of the Sage 50 software.

Course content

The initial part of the course (approximately four sessions) focusses on the navigation within the Sage 50 Professional Accounts package, allowing delegates to create customer and supplier accounts, and then process invoices, payments and receipts. This provides a solid foundation for the second part of the course (approximately eight sessions) which looks at more complex transactions including creating accounts, processing transactions, journals, transfers and discounts. There is time set aside during the latter stages of the course for delegates to practise their skills on accountancy exercises and previous examination papers before sitting the final examination.

Entry requirements

Delegates will need numeracy at a basic level and a basic knowledge of a PC.
