Overview of the Course

This course explains the links between activity and better health and demonstrates the opportunities within daily life to become more active. This qualification is designed to facilitate learning in a practical environment that motivates learners.

What topics will I study?

The topics covered include

·         Introduction to Health and Fitness

·         Improving Personal Health and Fitness

It is assessed by completing worksheets and producing a personal activity programme.

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification is open to all and is relevant to adult life. It is suitable for anyone who wishes to improve their knowledge of activity and exercise or who wants to adopt a healthier lifestyle for themselves. Also for those considering a career in the fitness industry.

Progression

This qualification can lead to further training and employment within the fitness industry.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment. Please be aware that in order to use the gym facilities in college you will be required to wear suitable footwear, i.e. trainers and suitable kit.

15th, 17th and 22nd, 24th and 29th, 31st January and 5th, 7th and 12th, 14th February

OR

16th, 18th and 23rd, 25th and 30th April, 2nd and 7th, 9th and 14th, 16th May

Attendance

2 days each week:

Mondays         1.00 pm– 4.00 pm

Wednesdays   10.00 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
