|Course Title||NCFE/CACHE Level 1 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Caring for Children|
This qualification is designed to stimulate interest and encourage your understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for a child. You will learn about the growth and development of children and will need an ability to relate to children.
Completion of the course assignments and two week work experience will give you the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 Childcare course or a Level 2 apprenticeship.
Four or more GCSEs at grade A*-E (9-2) including English. A clear DBS check which you can apply for at enrolment.
A full-time one year course starting in September 2017.
You will complete a combination of mandatory and optional units, all assessed by coursework and portfolio tasks. Such as: Growth and development of young children, children’s play, practical health and safety and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
To be successful in a childcare career you will need to develop good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Work experience is for two weeks in a childcare setting during term two.
Your Childcare Study Programme will support personal development to ensure you make good progress and acquire the skills required for successful progression to Level 2 Childcare or an apprenticeship. You will have the opportunity to take part in fundraising events, sport and fitness activities, course related study visits and careers events.
A booklist is available at a cost of around £25. There is also a Childcare uniform which you may like to purchase.
