Overview of the Course

This qualification allows you to understand the role of a mentor and be aware of the skills needed to become an effective mentor.

What topics will I study?

The topics covered include:

  •  Gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship 
  •  Be clear about mentor/mentee relationships 
  •  Ensure they follow good practice 
  •  Be aware of the specific skills and understanding they will require in order to mentor 
  •  Review their own learning and work performance

Who is this course aimed at?

Anyone who is considering a career in health and social care or who has an interest in finding out more about mentoring.

Progression

This qualification can lead to further study in mentoring at Level 2 or above or lead to employment in the health and social care sector.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.

Duration

Two weeks.

Dates

There will be start dates across the year - September: 27th. October: 4th. November: 15th and 22nd. January: 10th and 17th. February: 28th. March: 7th. May: 2nd and 9th. June: 20th and 27th.
Two weeks from commencement.

Attendance

The course will run on Wednesdays, 9.30 am – 4.00 pm for two weeks.

Costs

This is a free course however an eligibility criteria applies. Cost if not eligible is £185.
