|Course Title||Nail Services Level 3 Apprenticeship|
The Level 3 Diploma in Nail Services enables you to learn the essential skills and development designed by employers for nail technicians. Optional units of the apprenticeship also include contributing to the financial effectiveness of the business and to the planning and implementations of promotional activities. With the opportunity to put your ideas into practice and learn lots of new techniques you may decide to progress into self employment, become a salon owner or work in holiday resorts, the fashion industry or cruise ships. The course covers a range of areas. Mandatory units include: Monitor procedures to safely control work operations, Enhance and maintain nails using UV gel, Enhance and maintain nails using liquid and powder. Optional units include: Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business, Plan and create nail art designs, Develop a range of creative nail images, Prepare and finish overlays using electric files, Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities. This course will involve 20% of your time to be dedicated to off the job training.
Initial assessment and diagnostic testing on maths and English will take place prior to commencement of apprenticeship.
Functional Skills are a vital part of your apprenticeship. They provide the essential knowledge, skills and understanding needed to operate confidently, effectively and independently. Functional skills are available at Level 1 and Level 2 and the level you will work towards will depend on the previous qualifications you have achieved, the results of an assessment prior to your apprenticeship and the requirements of the apprenticeship you are completing. If you have not already achieved Level 2 English and maths you must study for and take the tests for Level 2 English and maths and chieve Level 1 English and maths for Level 2 Apprenticeship.
As well as the college attendance, your assessor will visit you on a regular basis and support you with developing your electronic portfolio which is used as evidence for your end point assessment. At these meetings observations, question and answer sessions and reviews will take place.
