About the programme
An estimated 21 million people in the UK suffer from at least one allergy whilst 6-8% of children have a proven food allergy. A severe allergic reaction can kill in minutes – would you know what to do? This programme will give you the knowledge and skills to assist in this life threatening emergency situation.
Who it is aimed at
Anyone with a First Aid responsibility in the workplace. Anyone who works with or looks after people with severe allergic reactions. People who work in the food retail industry.
Summoning appropriate assistance, casualty positioning and adrenaline auto-injectors
Common triggers, signs and symptoms and life-threatening features
Incident and casualty assessment
Practical assessments conducted throughout the course
No pre-qualification requirements, however must be able to participate in practical first aid sessions
