|Course Title||Level 3 Award in Education and Training - Block Course|
About the programme
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training course is a foundation level qualification for teaching in the lifelong learning sector (post-compulsory education for anyone aged over 16) and is delivered over five day sessions or ten evening sessions.
If delegates have completed a Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) course or an Assessor course since 2011, they may be able to get accreditation of prior achievement (APA) if they wish to obtain the other award.
The mandatory unit of Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment can be counted as one of the three units that have to be achieved for the Award in Education and Training (formerly PTLLS). This reduces the number of assignments for completion and the number of attended sessions. The Level 3 award qualification would be at a discounted price.
Who is it aimed at
The course is aimed at anyone who delivers training but wishes to have a formal qualification. The course is also suitable for anyone who wishes to have the basic knowledge and skills to deliver short courses either in a company or to the public. This is not a full teaching qualification but it is the first step and can be accredited against higher qualifications.
The course covers a range of practical and theoretical topics about education and training including:-
There is a requirement for an assessed practical micro-teaching session and some assessed written assignment work.
A good standard of literacy and numeracy is required to at least Level 2 – a short test needs to be undertaken prior to commencement of the course.
