This qualification is designed to help you to build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children’s settings including early years and social care.

This course is designed for anyone interested in working with children or young people.
You can progress onto the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator). You may also chose to progress into employment as an Assistant Pre-school Worker, Assistant in Children's Centres, or an Assistant in Day Nurseries, Nursery Schools and Nursery Classes.
You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your interview A clear DBS is also required.
You will attend class once a week on a Tuesday from 6.30-8.30pm. You will also need to attend a placement in a childcare setting for a minimum of 12 hours a week.
