Overview of the Course

This is a 'life-skills' qualification where you will learn about the links between activity, healthy living and improved health and demonstrate opportunities within daily life to become more active.

What topics will I study?

The topics covered include

·         How the body works

·         How to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle

It is assessed through a portfolio of evidence and a practical demonstration.

 

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification is aimed at those considering a career in the fitness industry or for anyone wishing to improve their knowledge of activity and exercise and wanting to adopt a healthier lifestyle for themselves.

Progression

This qualification can lead to further training and employment within the fitness industry.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.

Please be aware that in order to use the gym facilities in college you will be required to wear suitable footwear, i.e. trainers and suitable kit.

Duration

2 days each week for 5 weeks:

 

Mondays         1.00 pm– 4.00 pm

Wednesdays   10.00 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm

 

 

Dates

26th, 28th February and 5th, 7th and 12th, 14th and 19th, 21st and 26th, 28th March

OR

21st, 23rd May (1 week off for half term) and 4th, 6th and 11th, 13th and 18th, 20th and 25th, 27th June

Attendance

2 days each week: Mondays 1.00 pm– 4.00 pm Wednesdays 10.00 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
