This apprenticeship covers a wide range of areas which allows you to develop knowledge and skills. You can choose the qualification that demonstrates the specialist knowledge and skills you have developed for a wide range of roles including: Systems analyst, Telecommunications technician, Internet/Web professional, Senior system support technician, Web master/Senior designer, Lead software developer including games designer. These roles will include skills such as; Building Relationships, Team Working, Communication, Operational/System Management, Remote Support, Quality Control. You will enhance your written and verbal skills and develop communication skills with colleagues and customers. You will deal with ICT first line communication tasks, update internal quality systems and monitor systems performance. You will learn on the job in a work environment for the diploma and in college for the Technical Certificate Assessment which will include: E-assessment, Multiple choice examination, Portfolio of evidence, Practical demonstration/Assignment, Task-based controlled assessment. This course will involve 20% of your time to be dedicated to off the job training.
Initial assessment and diagnostic testing on maths and English will take place prior to commencement of apprenticeship.

Functional Skills are a vital part of your apprenticeship. They provide the essential knowledge, skills and understanding needed to operate confidently, effectively and independently. Functional skills are available at Level 1 and Level 2 and the level you will work towards will depend on the previous qualifications you have achieved, the results of an assessment prior to your apprenticeship and the requirements of the apprenticeship you are completing. If you have not already achieved Level 2 English and maths you must: • Study for and take the tests for Level 2 English and maths • Achieve Level 1 English and maths for Level 2 Apprenticeship
As well as a college attendance to support and assess the knowledge units, the assessor will visit on a regular basis and support you with developing your electronic portfolio which is used as evidence for your end point assessment. At these meetings observations, professional discussions, question and answer sessions teaching and learning plans and reviews will take place.
