Overview of the Course

WHO:

This module is suitable for new or less experienced front-line team leaders /

supervisors who have been assigned responsibility for day-to-day operations of a

specific group of people and for reporting to a line manager on their performance.

WHAT:

Safe practice and environmental safeguards require managers at all levels to lead by

example so they can both demonstrate and support best practice within their teams.

This module includes:

• An overview of legal and other responsibilities

• Identifying hazards

• Managing risks

• Monitoring and reporting

The module introduces current health, safety and environmental legislation, relating

them to specific roles and responsibilities at the frontline/supervisory level. Case

studies and practical exercises on hazard identification, risk assessment, control,

monitoring and reporting will help participants understand how these
