Overview of the Course

This qualification gives you the opportunity to:

  • Engage in learning which is relevant to them and will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.
  • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 1 vocationally-related qualification.
  • Progress to employment in the retail sector.
  • Progress to related general and/or vocational qualifications.

  • Understanding the Business of Retail 
  • Understand the Retail Selling Process
  • Understanding the Control, Handling and Replenishment of Stock in a Retail Business 
  • Understanding how Individuals and Teams Contribute to the Effectiveness of a Retail Business

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification extends your knowledge and understanding of work in the retail sector. It is a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into employment following a career break.


This qualification can help you progress into further learning or to take up employment in the retail sector.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.


Two weeks.


There are various start dates throughout the year - December: 11th, 12th and 18th, 19th. February: 5th, 6th and 12th, 13th. March: 19th, 20th and 26th, 27th. May: 14th, 15th and 21st, 22nd. June: 18th, 19th and 25th, 26th.
Two weeks from commencement.


The course will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays, 9.30 am – 4.00 pm.


This is a free course however an eligibility criteria applies. Cost if not eligible is £190.
