|Course Title||Advanced Engineering Level 3 Apprenticeship|
The Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship is ideal for you if who have have already completed a Level 2 qualification in engineering, or if you are interested in pursuing a career in the engineering industry. This apprenticeship covers a broad range of engineering sectors and the detail of the skills acquired will depend on the chosen pathway but can include; Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacture and Technical Services and provides the skills and knowledge to operate at Craft or Technician level. During your apprenticeship you will complete a range of assignments which will give you the opportunity to prepare written work based on your own observations. Optional units will be chosen with your assessor to ensure you meet your scope of work that you will be carrying out with your employer. This course will involve 20% of your time to be dedicated to off the job training.
As this is an employer driven course, employment in an appropriate engineering organisation is required. Entry requirements are dependent on each individual employer, usually a minimum of five GCSEs at grade A* to C including mathematics and English Language. In addition a GSCE at A*to C/9-4 in Science or a BTEC Level 2 or Extended Diploma in Engineering or other equivalent qualification is an advantage. A keen interest in the design and manufacture of products or electro-mechanical engineering maintenance is essential.
Advanced Engineering Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship.
Functional Skills are a vital part of your apprenticeship. They provide the essential knowledge, skills and understanding needed to operate confidently, effectively and independently. Functional skills are available at Level 1 and Level 2 and the level you will work towards will depend on the previous qualifications you have achieved, the results of an assessment prior to your apprenticeship and the requirements of the apprenticeship you are completing. If you have not already achieved Level 2 English and maths you must study for and take the tests for Level 2 English and maths and achiieve Level 1 English and maths for Level 2 Apprenticeship.
As well as the college attendance, your assessor will visit you on a regular basis and support you with developing your electronic portfolio which is used as evidence in order to complete your apprenticeship as it brings everything together. You are assessed in the workplace by a qualified and trade-competent assessor who will help support you and your employer in achieving your qualification. Some elements are assessed by exam. At these meetings observations, question and answer sessions and reviews will take place.
