Overview of the Course

This qualification allows you to learn and develop skills in Principles of Communication and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Adult Social Care Settings.

What topics will I study?

The topics covered include:

Communication 

  •  Understand why communication is important in adult social care settings
  •  Understand how to meet the communication and language needs, wishes and preferences of an individual.
  •  Understand how to reduce barriers to communication
  •  Understand confidentiality in adult social care settings

Equality, diversity and inclusion 

  • Understand the importance of diversity, equality and inclusion
  • Know how to work in an inclusive way
  • Know how to access information, advice and support about diversity, equality, inclusion and discrimination

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification is suitable for those who work or want to develop skills and knowledge required for working in the health and social care sector.

Progression

This qualification can lead to further study in health and social care or provide knowledge for those wishing to enter the health and social care sector.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.

Duration

The programme will run for three days a week for two weeks.

Dates

Start dates will run across various points of the year - September: 27th, 28th, 29th. October: 4th, 5th, 6th. November: 7th 8th, 9th and 15th, 16th, 17th. December: 6th, 7th, 8th and 13th, 14th, 15th
Three weeks from commencement.

Attendance

The course will run for thee days per week for two weeks on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9.30am - 3.00pm.

Costs

This is a free course however an eligibility criteria applies. Cost if not eligible £140 (£70 per unit).
