Overview of the Course

This programme allows you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the health and social care sector.

The topics covered include:

  • Introduction to the adult social care sector      
  • Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care   
  • Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care 
  • Awareness of communication in adult social care    
  • Awareness of the role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification is suitable for those who work or want to develop skills and knowledge required for working in the health and social care sector.

Progression

This qualification can lead to further study in health and social care or provide knowledge for those wishing to enter the health and social care sector.

What are the entry requirements?

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.

Duration

Three weeks.

Dates

There are various start dates across the year - September: 28th and 29th. October: 5th, 6th and 12th, 13th. November: 16th, 17th and 23rd, 24th and 30th. December: 1st.
Three weeks from commencement.

Attendance

You will attend two days per week for three weeks on Thursdays and Fridays, 9.30 am - 3.00 pm.

Costs

This is a free course however an eligibility criteria applies. Cost if not eligible to be confirmed is £190.
