This qualification develops a basic knowledge of childcare in early years’ settings. It covers working with children up to the age of five years old. The units include subjects such as the value of play, roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers and the importance of developing links in the local community.

This course is ideal for anyone who is considering a career in early years settings. This could include parents and volunteers who would like to play a part in early years settings such as pre-schools.
This course is an excellent starting point and will prepare you for study at Level 2 should you wish to progress.
You will be asked to complete an initial assessment when you attend your enrolment.
You will attend class for 10 hours per week, timetable to be confirmed.
This is a free course however an eligibility criteria applies. Cost if not eligible is £210.
