Student Support and Advice
Government Ofsted inspectors judged Bury College to be outstanding and praised in particular our ‘Outstanding Support for Students’.
At Bury College we will do everything possible to help and support you throughout your studies. We will provide impartial advice and information about the courses available to you and help you make the right decision about your programme of study. We understand that each student’s needs are different and we will discuss at interview which is the best option for you.
We are here to help you
We want you to feel part of Bury College from your very first day and to enjoy your time here. To help you achieve your best we will set and agree with you personal, challenging targets, supported by regular spoken and written feedback to help you succeed. A personal tutor will work closely with you, reviewing your progress and providing help and support.
We will help and advise you when applying for university or employment. You can also expect to receive plenty of support if you have a disability or learning difficulty of any sort. If you are aged 16-19, the Connexions Service provides Personal Advisors from Lifetime Careers to help you plan your career.
Mentoring For Excellence
If you have extraordinary potential and have 6 As or more at GCSE, you can be a part of the Bury College Mentoring for Excellence Programme. You will have the benefit of a personal tutor who will help you to fulfil your potential and challenge you to aspire to the very best universities and the most competitive courses in the country.
