Student Support and Advice
At Bury College we will do everything possible to help and support you throughout your studies. We will provide impartial advice and information about the courses available to you and help you make the right decision about your programme of study. We understand that each student’s needs are different and we will discuss at interview which is the best option for you.
We are here to help you
We want you to feel part of Bury College from your very first day and to enjoy your time here. To help you achieve your best we will set and agree with you personal, challenging targets, supported by regular spoken and written feedback to help you succeed. A personal tutor will work closely with you, reviewing your progress and providing help and support.
We will help and advise you when applying for university or employment. You can also expect to receive plenty of support if you have a disability or learning difficulty of any sort.
Mentoring For Excellence
Bury College is committed to supporting gifted and talented learners through its long established Mentoring for Excellence Programme. As a gifted and talented student you will have the opportunity to be part of the programme, benefitting from specialist guidance and support to help you achieve your full potential.
The Buttle UK Quality Mark
Bury College has been awarded the Buttle UK Quality Mark, a framework which was implemented to improve and accredit support for looked after children and care leavers in further and higher education.
By upholding the Quality Mark, Bury College has been recognised as an institution that raises aspirations among children and young people in and leaving care to help them access and succeed in college, university and beyond.
In addition, a dedicated member of Bury College staff is on hand to ensure that students are supported successfully with their application and enrolment and continue to succeed throughout their time with us.
