Within the context of the Greater Manchester Area Review of post-16 education and training, Bury College and the University of Bolton propose to merge.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future development of education, training and skills in Bury, North Manchester and beyond. Crucially, this proposal will enable Bury College to retain its name and identity, whilst enhancing its capacity and capability to support its learners, stakeholders and communities.

Consultation Proposal - Update
The consultation on the merger proposal ran 12 April-31 May 2016.
The response received to the consultation proposal has been considerable. Bury College
wishes to thank all who responded and took time to share their thoughts.
You can download the Merger Consultation Document which outlines our plans and forms a part of the formal consultation process.
265 survey responses were received from a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, students, staff, potential students, employers, schools and local authorities. In addition, several individual detailed responses were received with considered thoughts and feedback.
All responses and views received are greatly valued. The Governing Body of Bury College is currently reflecting on the responses received and will be meeting throughout June to consider and discuss the feedback. Following this, a response to the consultation document will be published, slightly later than the date originally proposed, which will allow more time for careful consideration of all responses received.
Once again, thank you to all stakeholders for your valued responses.
