Golden Hello Special Offer

Due to additional government funding Bury College has a fantastic Golden Hello offer which is of great benefit to employers and people who are unemployed. This special offer can help employers to take on a new Apprentice and receive a significant contribution towards the first six months of the Apprentice’s salary. Training is delivered free. To qualify for a ‘Golden Hello’ Apprenticeships the potential employee must be aged 18-24 years old and claiming job seekers allowance. The employer must be a SME and unable to take on an Apprentice without this support.

*In 2010-11, a one of certification fee will apply to apprentices aged 19+. Fee changes may vary 2011-2012.

 


Be part of employing the talent of the future

A Bury College Apprenticeship is not limited to young people, adults can be Apprentices too. We can provide an Apprenticeship for a person aged 16 and over and in employment for 30 hours or more.

There are no formal entry requirements, but some Apprenticeships may require a level of English and/or Maths (please enquire). Bury College Apprenticeships provide learning and development opportunities for existing staff. We also help to fill any vacancy you have with enthusiastic people that will suit your business.

Your Apprentice can start their Apprenticeship at any time throughout the year. Recruitment is not limited to academic term start dates.

With support and funding from the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), Bury College is actively promoting the benefits of Apprenticeships to individuals, groups and organisations across Greater Manchester.

Training Quality Standard

In recognition of its work with employers Bury College has joined the select few colleges in the country to be awarded the new Training Quality Standard (TQS) for Employer Engagement. The Training Quality Standard is an assessment framework established by the Learning and Skills Council. The award recognises the work of the Bury College Apprenticeship scheme in delivering outstanding training and development for businesses and their employees.
