Are Apprenticeships for New or Existing Staff?

If you do not already have a job, we offer a professional recruitment service. We will work with you to help find you employment, and a suitable Apprenticeship Programme. We will help you prepare for job interviews and assist with CV writing.

If you are currently working we can discuss the best training plan to meet your needs. We will identify the Apprenticeship programme that benefits you and your employer.


What entry requirements are there?

There are no formal entry requirements, but some programmes may require a level of English and/or Maths (please enquire).


How will I achieve my Apprenticeship?

Learning is flexible and is based on work experience and workplace assessments. You will be allocated a personal Assessor to support you throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship.

Some programmes will have an option for day release or evening classes at college although this will be agreed on a flexible basis.

Assessments will be through workplace observation, questioning and the learner providing evidence that proves they meet industry standards.


How long will it take to complete?

There is no set time limit to complete your Apprenticeship; it will depend on your ability and experience. Most Apprenticeships are completed within 12 months.


Are there any costs involved?

There is no cost for the exceptional training you will receive from Bury College Apprenticeships. Your employer will pay your wages and give you on-the-job training.


Will I Get Paid?

You will get paid whilst you are working. Research had found that Apprentices earn an average wage of £170 net per week.

You will receive one-to-one ongoing support from your personal Bury College Assessor.

You can take advantage of the excellent Bury College campus and resources such as: Sports facilities, learning resource and drop-in centres, computer workshops, on-line learning facilities etc.

Bury College located in Bury Town Centre with training centres in Bury, Bolton, Heywood and Wigan. As an Apprentice you can take advantage of the free morning coach service running from Rochdale to Bury College.
